Kennydale PTA was recognized as a non-profit corporation on January 10, 1979. It is the responsibility of this unit to annually renew the Article of Incorporation prior to March 1. The incorporation number is D285475.

The employer identification number for Kennydale PTA is on file.

Kennydale PTA was recognized as a non-profit tax-exempt organization on January 29, 1982 by the IRS Department under the Internal Revenue Section 501(c)(4). Kennydale PTA was recognized as a non-profit tax-exempt organization on April 15, 1998 by the IRS Department under the Internal Revenue Section 501(c)(3).

The president and the treasurer will be responsible for maintaining the corporate concerns file and all legal documents in order with each keeping a copy.

The service fee of this unit shall be $20.00 per family, which shall include up to 2 adults, each additional family member shall be $10.00, and $10.00 per staff member. Fees may be offered at a discount.

| 7. |
The students of Kennydale Elementary School shall be considered honorary members of Kennydale PTA without voice, vote, or privilege of holding office.
|

The election of officers shall be in accordance with the Uniform Bylaws.;-The Nominating Committee shall be elected in January.;-The slate of officers shall be presented in February.;- Election of officers shall be in March.

The elected officers of Kennydale PTA shall consist of a President, or Co-Presidents, up to three (3) Vice Presidents, a Secretary and a Treasurer.;- The term of office commences July 1 and concludes June 30 of the following school year.;- No person shall serve in the same office for more than two(2) consecutive years.;- In the event two(2) or more members of the same household hold offices in the same local unit or council, only one(1) shall co-sign financial matters.

All committee chairpersons must be current PTA members.

| 11.a |
The Executive Committee of this unit shall consist of the elected officers. The Board of Directors shall consist of the elected officers, committee chairs as specified, the school principal and a faculty representative. A majority of the Board of Directors shall constitute a quorum.

Regular Meetings: Executive board will specify date, time, and place to hold regular meetings.
|
| 11.c |
Special Meetings: Can be called by the president or the majority of the board members. The date, time, and place for holding the special meeting will be by mututal consensus.

| 12. |
General Membership Meetings of this unit shall be held. There shall be at least three (3) meetings during the year. Ten (10) members shall constitute a quorum.

Vacancy: An office/chairmanship shall be declared vacant if that person misses three (3) consecutive board and/or general membership meetings unless excused by the president.
|
| 13.b |
Resignation: Any board member may resign with cause by delivering written notice to the president and take effect at the time specified therein, or if the time is not specified, upon delivery thereof.

Removal: At a meeting of the board members called expressly for that purpose one or more members may be removed from office and/or PTA membership with cause by three-fourths of the votes cast by the board members.

Special Meetings: Can be called by the president or the majority of the board members. The date, time, and place for holding the special meeting will be by mututal consensus.

A committee of at least three(3) and no more than five(5) with the previous years recipients as chair or co-chair shall be responsible for the final decision as to the recipient(s) of the Golden Acorn Award(s), for which recommendations will be accepted from any PTA member. The same shall apply for the Kodiak Award, for which recommendations will be accepted from the school community.

Voting delegates to Renton PTA Council shall be a member of Kennydale PTA present at Renton PTA Council meetings.

The vote for this unit for the Region Director shall be by board action.
|
| 18. |
Voting delegates to the Legislative Assembly shall be the Legislative chairman and one additional delegate appointed by the president, unless otherwise designated by the Board.

The budget shall be reviewed yearly and adopted by a majority vote at the last general membership meeting.
|
| 20. |
The standing rules shall be reviewed yearly and adopted by a majority vote at the first general membership meeting.
|
| 21. |
The standing rules may be amended at any regular general membership meeting by a two-thirds(2/3) vote, or if previous notice is given, by a majority vote.
|

Parliamentary authority is "Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised."
|
| 23. |
Staff and teachers of Kennydale Elementary, who are PTA members, shall be admitted to any and all PTA-sponsored events free of charge. This could include, but is not limited to: sock hops, skate parties, family nights, carnivals, and auction events. We extend this courtesy as an expression of our gratitude for Kennydale's teachers and staff, and to encourage participation at PTA events.

Should the PTA receive a non-sufficient fund (NSF) check, a $10 service fee will be charged in addition to any bank penalties the PTA may accrue. If the NSF check or checks are not paid for by June 1st, then the PTA will not accept any checks from this individual in the future.

The PTA shall conduct an audit of its books and records the first of each calendar year in addition to the required audit at the close of the fiscal year.
