MEMBERSHIP DRIVE DRAWING
As part of the early membership drive for the Kennydale PTA, members that joined the PTA before October 1, 2009, were entered in a drawing for a football autographed by Seattle Seahawks' quarterback Matt Hasselbeck.
The winning name was drawn during our Kennydale PTA membership meeting
Oct. 13, 2009.

Dear Parents,
Your Kennydale PTA is an active all-volunteer organization bringing fun events and educational enrichment to our students, including: Science Week, Sock Hop, Skate Party, after school clubs, Reflections Art Contest, Talent Show, art docent program, funding for teachers and learning materials, Teddy Bear Patrol, Story Night, emergency preparedness, Book Fair and more!!!
Studies have shown that children do better in school when they see their own family members involved, interested, and invested in their school. PTA membership is one of the best ways to achieve that for your children. Show the students, staff, and teachers at Kennydale Elementary that the community supports the important work they are doing at school.
Join us today and make a difference!
This year we are hoping for one member from every family at Kennydale Elementary to join us.
Being a PTA member DOES NOT require volunteering during school hours or coming to meetings. So whether you can give a lot of your time - or simply just a little - having you as a member of the Kennydale PTA is important to our school and to our children.
Here are just a few examples of ways that PTA members can help:
- Prepare food for a meeting (egg rolls, soup, salad, pie, etc.)
- Take photos during our talent show or other fun event
- Chaperone during our annual sock hop
- Help set up - or clean up after – a PTA sponsored event
- Arrange flowers for teacher/staff appreciation
- Count student’s laps during our annual walk-a-thon
In addition to supporting our teachers and staff, membership includes:

How Do I Join?
To join our PTA please print and complete the appropriate membership form below
or pick up forms in the rack next to the PTA office at Kennydale Elementary School.
2009-2010 FAMILY MEMBERSHIP. Place the completed form and payment into an envelope. On the front of the envelope write: KENNYDALE PTA, your child's name and their teacher. Have your child give it to his/her teacher.
2009-2010 STAFF MEMBERSHIP. Please submit to Kennydale PTA box in office.
2009-2010 VOLUNTEER FORM. Send completed form to school with your child.
Why Get Involved?
For parents and families, studies have shown that your membership in PTA improves the experience of your child and others in school, providing a greater degree of success and attachment to school. As a PTA member, you are contributing to decisions about the experiences and opportunities your child will have in school.
PTA provides opportunities to meet and talk with other parents and community members who have many of the same concerns and questions you do. Being part of PTA can improve your ability to be engaged and informed regarding what is occurring in your child’s life. Participating in PTA events, meetings, and online discussions can increase the information and power you have in making decisions about your children and their education.
Ultimately, PTA provides the opportunity to serve, to volunteer, and to contribute to the welfare of all children - our future. PTA will introduce you to a great variety of new activities and opportunities to share your special talents. Your involvement impacts the local community as well as major legislative and policy issues affecting children throughout Washington State
